Do you ever stop to think about what a unique business we are in?

So many factors set spa and wellness apart from other industries, like the unusual customer service requirements, the sky high expectation levels, and the whirlwind rate at which trends come and go.

It takes a special set of talents to succeed in this sector, which is why Book4Time launched Spa Executive magazine not too long ago — to be a resource for leaders in the spa and wellness industry. Spa Executive addresses the unique needs of those leaders by placing an editorial focus on spa business, leadership, technology, growth, news, and trends. Featuring content written for and about the best and brightest owners, directors and managers in spa and wellness, we are dedicated exclusively to those who want to grow, succeed, improve operations, and increase revenue in this sector.

Introducing the latest update to Spa Executive

We wanted to share with you some of the new developments we’re excited about at Spa Executive.

We recently launched a new digital, page-turning version of the magazine to go along with the website, which features a real spa executive on the cover each month. So far, we’ve had the privilege of talking with Shane Bird of Turning Stone Resort & Casino about what it takes to run an award winning spa, Deirdre Strunk of Canyon Ranch about the challenges currently facing the industry, and AccorHotels’ Daniel Poulin about what makes a successful spa director.

We continue to explore the topics of technology disruptions, retail sales, operational efficiency, and to pay close attention to the area of staffing and employee retention. Talent shortages and high employee turnover continue to be a problem in this industry. Finding actionable solutions before it becomes a hurdle is a key part of finding the way forward, which is why we’re making the examination of these issues part of our mandate, and talking to people like Sonal Uberoi of Spa Balance Consulting, about how to combat the serious industry problem of employee burnout.

The competition is fierce out there

Wellness is one of the world’s biggest and fastest growing industries. According to the most recent Global Wellness Economy Monitor, the global wellness industry grew from $3.7 trillion to $4.2 trillion from 2015-2017. This is nearly twice as fast as global economic growth.

And the sector is not just growing, it’s changing in incredible and amazing ways. Developments in scientific research and technology are causing major disruptions. We looked at where these developments might lead us in the special report The Spa of the Future.

It’s an exhilarating time, but there is a lot to keep up with, including the competition. Spa Executive’s goal is to provide you with the resources and information to outpace them all.

New advertising and sponsored content opportunities

We’re also excited to announce that we are now offering advertising and sponsored content opportunities! This is for companies and people wishing to reach a finely curated audience of owners and managers in the business of wellness. We can’t wait to see the products, ideas, and solutions people have to share.

Spa Executive inspires readers to embrace innovation and lead by example, and what an exciting future that is turning out to be.
